Book Review – Sorcerer’s Touch By Imogene Nix

I was very excited to the get the ARC of this. Having read the first two in the trilogy, Blood Secrets, I was intrigued to find out how their story ended.

By this point I was very much emotionally involved with Hope, Xavier, Celina, Javed, Daniel and Cressida’s lives so the stakes (every pun intended 😉) were high for this title. I can tell you now, I was not disappointed!

As the endgame looms, choices must be made, changes must occur and skills must be refined, but as they take one last throw of the dice, everything hangs in the balance.

Since the Slaughterhouse Rout, Daniel has nursed his abilities, but the decision he faces will change his life and those of everyone around him. Whether the change is positive or not remains to be seen.

Cressida fears that history will repeat itself. Once before she lost everything she held dear, but after centuries of hiding she must face her past in order to forge a new future. Has she waited too long and pushed Daniel away too well?

The darkness draws closer…

For me, this novel tied up all the loose ends nicely and really brought its endgame.

Throughout the trilogy I felt the character development evolved and I liked how each book gave us a better and bigger insight into two of the main characters.

This time round it was Cressida and Daniel. Now, Cressida has always been one of my favourite characters as she comes across as such an authoritative figure. Although she has been a vampire for a long time, she has retained her humanity which has made her more grounded and relatable. Her independence has lead her to become a strong leader and Councillor to the other nests but her reluctance to fall in love makes her truly human, a quality not always seen in a vampire especially of her age. Finding out more about Cressida’s background made her a well-rounded character and really brought her to life more.

We also found out more about the main villain, Attar which I thoroughly enjoyed and there are some good twists I didn’t predict. This book will have you laughing, crying, booing and cheering throughout. It is a rollercoaster of a finale and a brilliant end to a fantastic series of books.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys their paranormal romance novels. These had the perfect combination of love, laughter, action and steamy scenes.

Have you read any of this series? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below.

Much love 💘
