Book Review – Minor Detail by Adania Shibli

This year I am trying to broaden my horizons when it comes to reading and try novels outside of my comfort zone. I found that last year with lockdowns and a lot of other things going on I often reverted to my chosen genres such as rom-coms, thrillers and fantasy. But this year I am determined to try something new, and this was one of them.

Minor Detail is set in two different timelines, but both connected. The first part is the re-telling of a horrific event which happened in 1949 in Israel where a Sargent captured, raped and then shot a young girl. The second part is written many years later by a woman who finds an article about the event and becomes intrigued, and a little obsessed with trying to find out more about this event.

Book Review- Playing for Love by Jeevani Charika

What do you get if you combine a less futuristic version of Ready Player One with a romantic comedy? Well, the answer is you get something similar to Playing for Love by Jeevani Charika.

As some of you may know by the now, as well as being a complete book worm I am also a big gamer. So when I saw this book on Netgalley I had to give it a read. Thanks to Netgalley and Hq Digital for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review – 56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard

These last few months I have dlipped behind a bit with my reviews so I thought I would try and have a more productive month of reviews starting with this one, which I did a buddy read of with a good friend of mine from Bookstagram.

This is the first book I have read which has been set during the 2020 lockdowns and the whole premise of it, including the fact it was set in Ireland peaked my interest.

Book Tour – Elladur The Elder’s Legacy

I was gifted a copy of this by Love Book Tours and Angie Delazie in advance of the book tour for the second book, elladur the Elder’s Legacy which is coming to lizzieslittlebooknook.co.uk on 7th March.

I love a good fantasy novel and this one really caught my eye. So let’s start off with a bit of a….

Book Tour – Nothing’s As It Seems by Holly Brandon

It’s time for another book tour, yes two in one day, or two for the price of one you lucky people 😉 This time we go from thriller to contemporary rom com in the shape of Nothing’s as it seems by Holly Brandon. This is the 2nd book in the Life in the Chastity zone series and although I haven’t read the first one I don’t feel like I missed out too much as I was still able to read it as a standalone and keep up with what was going on.

Chastity Morgan is a woman in her 30s who is looking for a man, someone she can settle down with and also lose her virginity too. However, the star of the show is her family which is made up of a crazy mix of personalities from the bubbly, loving cousin, Roxie to the pushy grandma who is determined to see her granddaughter paired up with a man sooner rather than later.
